The Archäologische Kulturpark Niederösterreich Betriebsges.m.b.H., part of the NÖKU Group, operates the Roman town of Carnuntum, one of the most important cultural sites in the state of Lower Austria. In recent years, the Roman town of Carnuntum has been developed into a world-leading presentation centre for Roman history and has been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List as a section of the Austrian Danube Limes.
The Archäologische Kulturpark Niederösterreich Betriebsgesellschaft m.b.H. is looking for cultural mediators (m/f/d) for the season from 16 March to 17 November 2024. Employment as a freelance employee.

Your field of activity

  • Guided tours at all locations (Petronell-Carnuntum / Bad Deutsch-Altenburg) of the Roman town of Carnuntum (increased especially in May and June 2024)
  • Cultural mediation for adult groups
  • Cultural education for school groups
  • Optional: event and film shooting support if required

Your profile

  • You are friendly, polite and enjoy speaking in front of groups of people
  • You are punctual, reliable and communicative
  • Good knowledge of German and an interest in Roman history round off your profile
  • Additional languages (English, Slovakian, Hungarian, ...) are a big plus and enable you to give additional guided tours
  • Minimum age 18 years

  • The hours worked are paid on a fee basis at an hourly rate of € 30.00. We would like to point out that we cannot promise a specific number of hours, as this depends on both personal availability and the demand for cultural mediation programmes.
